How To Wear: Flat Lace Up Boots

Flat, lace up boots are a perfect way to add a little edge to your wardrobe.  These ones on the left are Steve Madden (click on the picture to take you to the site!).  They give off a little bit of a biker/tough/don’t mess with me vibe.  In saying that, if you pair them with other biker/tough/don’t mess with me items…the motorcycle gang in the city will be calling for you.  No judgement.  So, my suggestion would be to wear these with a little bit softer items.  I’ll show you what I mean.

Here are a few outfit ideas:

Option Numero Uno:

(All the clothes are from…they’re having a sale right now!  The bracelets are from, all under $20! Click on the pictures to take you there.)

Super easy,  BP. black leggings, Free People oversized sweater, BP. boots rolled down or left up.  Leggings should be fitted; that means tight everywhere.  Also, the sweater should be big.  It should come down to at least the top of your leg or longer, just like the Free People sweater above.  This outfit doesn’t really need a necklace because of the cowl neck in the sweater, but some cute bangles would be perfect!

Option Number Two:

I’m not a big fan of skinny jeans tucked into these boots (unless they’re black jeans and black boots), but if they are distressed boyfriend jeans rolled up, that miiiiiggghhht be pretty cute!  See what I mean?

I like to mix masculine with feminine.  So with these masculine boots and masculine jeans…we needed a feminine top with some cute jewelry.  The perfect combination!  I also think the boots should be loosely tied, like in the picture, when worn with boyfriend jeans.  Don’t roll them down when worn this way.  The top is Jessica Simpson and jeans are Mavi, both from Nordstrom.  The boots are Steve Madden.  The jewelry is all from  (Click the pictures to take you there!)

Over all, these boots are casual.  Remember to add a feminine touch to them. Roll them down only with leggings.  Keep them loosely tied, like the picture of the Steve Madden’s above.  Other than that, I think you’re good!  Go rock your boots!
